‘"You're just not the hire we want"’: Restaurant general manager berates job seeker for 10 minutes straight during second interview, job seeker calls her ‘strange’ and walks out

The job search is rough enough as it is. The last thing exhausted job seekers need is an entitled supervisor with a chip on their shoulder who decides to berate the next eager prospective employee that walks through their door. Manners have gone extinct in the workplace, and it's becoming a real problem for folks looking to make an honest living (and pay their rent on time).

The service industry is even difficult to break into nowadays. Folks are finding out that the server and bartender life can be more lucrative than their salaried 9-5s, and it shows in seasoned restaurant employees' inability to lock down a first interview at Applebees. So, you can imagine what an inexperienced job seeker might face when they go into a restaurant looking to be hired…

  • Fit_Bus9... I would've insulted her back. Then say your just being blunt and truthful. Walk out. I'm so tired of management with an attitude, that shouldn't even be working there. Toxic workers and management, they should be out the door. That's what I dealt with for many years. Will never deal with that again.
